Our story
Factory Flooring Direct was incorporated in May of 2004 in the small town of Lake Point, Utah. Richard Ure began selling carpet out of a construction trailer in the parking lot of our current location while he also managed the construction of our showroom and warehouse. He continued to sell and manage installations while also managing the building construction for the next year. He worked around the clock most days making sure everything went well in all aspects of the new business. Blood, sweat, and tears only begin to describe his experience in this process.
On tax day 2005, Brandon Ure, Richard's son, joined him in the venture. He managed the day to day business affairs, while also measuring customers' homes and working in the warehouse and doing some sales in the process.
In June of 2005, we opened our beautiful new showroom with attached warehouse and office space.
In the Fall of 2005, Jeff Wheat joined Richard and Brandon in the business. He came from working in the warehouse at Mohawk Industries bringing with him a great deal of knowledge regarding flooring products and warehouse management. Jeff began selling products and measuring customers' homes during this time as well.

Our story continued
We experienced some rapid growth in those first few years of business. Then, the great recession hit and we felt the massive sting of it. For several years the business shrank. We managed our finances as well as we could and sacrificed. The business, though smaller in terms of sales, stayed healthy financially. We patiently waited the recession out while we did everything possible to gain any customers we could.
The recession finally began loosening its grip. We were able to breathe again. Poised to move forward, we continued to improve our processes and the way we cared for our customers. We grew throughout the next several years, in many ways.
As time has passed, Richard reached the age of retirement. He reluctantly accepted the terms of an aging body and moved into a life more at home than at work. In 2019, Brandon Ure and Jeff Wheat purchased Factory Flooring Direct from Richard. They both have been part of the business since 2005, essentially since its very inception.
Brandon and Jeff see people as the most important part of being in business. We treat everyone like family: employees, sub contractors, customers, those in our community. We're involved in many great charitable causes in our community and we're always looking for ways to be more involved in a positive way.
