Standard sheet vinyl flooring, a favorite for moisture-prone bathrooms and kitchens, is usually glued to the subfloor. Typically, this resilient flooring is thin and flexible. It comes in rolls, and pieces are cut to fit a room. Several pieces that are seamlessly connected may be used in large rooms.

Depth and texture give hardwood, stone, and ceramic designs a realistic look. A protective finish, that repels dirt, scratches, and stains, makes sheet vinyl durable, and therefore, long-lasting. Many manufacturers offer finishes created with innovative technologies.
